Some practical informations 

Conference Hall

The Conference Ceremony Openings will take place at the “Academie Nationale Malgache”, rue F. Kasanga, Tsimbazaza - Antananarivo (between the Zoologic Park and the National Assembly).


The Conference Sessions from 15th to 18th October will at the “Salle de Thèse” Faculty of Sciences (University Ankatso - Antananarivo).


Travel Informations
The travel Paris-Antananarivo is about 9 hours. The ticket price Paris-Antananarivo-Paris of about 850-1000 Euros depending on the company. 3 airlines companies connect directly Paris to Antananarivo:


  1. •Air france : Please note that though Air France is the most expensive one, you can have a cheap connection from your city to Paris with this company. There is a direct flight from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Antananarivo.

  2. •Air Madagascar = Air Littoral: this company proposes also an interesting pack for domestic flights if you plan to have a pre- or post-conference tour. You can have a direct flight from Marseille or Paris-Charles de Gaulle.

  3. •Kenya Airways : departure from Paris CDG, change in Nairobi.

  4. •Turkish Airlines : departure from Istambul.


Transportation from and to the Airport (13 km from the city)
There will be a Conference mini-bus lift from the Airport to each Hotel. The cost is 35 euros for one person in the car, 30 euros each if 2 persons and 25 euros each if more.

The transportation from the Sunday dinner place to the airport is 25 euros for one person in the car, 20 euros each for 2 persons and 15 euros each if more.

A receipt can be delivered  upon request.



Lunch / Dinner
A typical european lunch or dinner proposed by different restaurants has an average price of 7-10 Euros.


Local currency
The local currency is Malagasy Franc: 1Euro is (depending on the period) about 4 000 Ariary (MGA) .


Health recommendations
You are recommended :

  1. •to follow a treatment anti-paludism ... before, during and after your stay in Madagascar.

  2. •bring a pharmaceutical kit containing some antibiotics, antidiarrhea and rehydratant, ...

  3. •and (eventually) to take some vaccines 6 weeks before your departure. Note that there are some recommanded vaccines (see e.g. the site: http://www.cdc.gov/travel/eafrica.htm) though not really necessary unless you go to some dirty places. Fore more informations, please consult your doctor.

Proceedings : 2nd December 2019.


Eventual cancellation of the conference participation
An eventual cancellation of the participation can only be done at least one month and half before the meeting. 20% penalty of the conference fee will be however retained. Please be careful because we always encounter some troubles related to the above-mentioned points.


Local Time and Climate

  1. •The local time is +2 hours compared with the Greenwich Time, and then +1 hour compared with the french (european) summer hour.

  2. •The climate in September-October is cool. The rainy season starts (normally) from the end of October.

Travel guide
You can find different travel guides on Madagascar (such as : the lonely planet collection, le petit fute, hachette edition, routard,...) in a bookstore.


Visas for Entry
One needs a Visa for entry in Madagascar. It can be delivered directly upon your arrival at the Antananarivo Airport if you have a valid passport. You can also get it at the Malagasy embassy or consulate which is (generally) located in the capital of each country.

A typical european comfort hotel has an average price of about 30-60 Euros per night. Breakfasts are about 3 Euros and dishes about 10 Euros (you may find cheaper outside the hotels).
