Conference Hall

The Conference Ceremony Openings will take place at the HEPMAD CULTURAL Andranotapahana (Ambohidratrimo Village - 8-10 km from the City : click here. on 23 October from 10 to 2 pm.

The Conference Sessions from 24th to 28th October will be at the HEPMAD Cultural Center.

Travel Informations
The travel Paris-Antananarivo by Air-France is about 9 hours. The ticket price Paris-Antananarivo-Paris of about 1000-1500 Euros depending on the company. 3 airlines companies connect Paris to Antananarivo:

• Air france : There is a direct flight from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Antananarivo.

• Corsair: There is a direct flight from Paris-Orly to Antananarivo.
• Air Mauritius : Ethiopian airlines from Paris (stopover Addis-Abeba), Air Mauritius from Antananarivo (stopover ile Maurice).

• Ethiopian Airlines : departure from Paris CDG, stopover in Addis-Abeba (cheapest !)

• Turkish Airlines : Stopovers : Istambul, Ile Maurice.
• Emirates : Ethiopian airlines from Paris (stopover Addis-Abeba), Emirates from Antananarivo (stopover ile Maurice, Dubai).

Transportation from and to the Airport (13 km from the city)
The Conference can organize a lift from the Airport to each Hotel downtown and vice-versa. The cost is 20 euros for one person in the car, 15 euros each if 2 persons or more.

The transportation from the Airport to the HEPMAD Center is 12 euros for one person in the car, 10 euros each for 2 persons or more.

A receipt can be delivered upon request.

Lunch / Dinner
A typical european lunch or dinner proposed by different restaurants (not gargotte / gargoyle) has an average price of (15-25) Euros.

During the conference, one can have a typical national + continental breakfast for 5 euros and lunch/dinner for 10 euros

at the HEPMAD center.

Local currency
The local currency is Malagasy Franc: 1Euro is (depending on the period) around 5 000 Ariary (MGA) .

Health recommendations
You are recommended to :

• follow an anti-paludism treatment... before, during and after your stay in Madagascar.

• bring a pharmaceutical kit containing some antibiotics, antidiarrhea and rehydratant, ...

• take (eventually) some vaccines 6 weeks before your departure. Note that there are some recommanded vaccines (see e.g. the site: http://www.cdc.gov/travel/eafrica.htm) though not really necessary unless you go to some dirty places. Fore more informations, please consult your doctor.

Proceedings : 06th December 2024.

Eventual cancellation of the conference participation
An eventual cancellation of the participation can only be done at least one month before the meeting where 20% penalty of the conference fee will be retained. Please be careful because we always encounter some troubles related to the above-mentioned points.

Local Time and Climate

• The local time is +2 hours compared with the Greenwich Time, and then +1 hour compared with the french (european) summer hour.

• The climate in September-November is cool. The rainy season starts (normally) from Mid-November but these last two years it started on December.

Travel guide
You can find different travel guides on Madagascar (such as : the lonely planet collection, le petit fute, hachette edition, routard,...) in a bookstore.

Visas for Entry
One needs a Visa for entry in Madagascar. It can be delivered directly upon your arrival at the Antananarivo Airport if you have a valid passport. You can also get it at the Malagasy embassy or consulate which is (generally) located in the capital of each country.

A typical european comfort hotel has an average price of about 20-60 Euros per night. Breakfasts are about 3 Euros and dishes about 10 Euros (you may find cheaper outside the hotels). Below are selected hotels
